Mechele Pruitt,
Child Development Specialist/Educator

Mechele Pruitt brings over three decades of experience to the field of child development and her work with families. She was the Director of Early Childhood programs in Silicon Valley as new start ups were emerging in the 1990's in Palo Alto, Ca. Her Reggio Emilia inspired programs served 100 children and their families. Mechele also worked for SFUSD serving children with Learning Differences and the Autism Spectrum. She guided parents during the IEP process about the needs of these children and how to approach instruction while maintaining a love of learning in their children. She has developed After School programs for three different school districts. The signature of all of her programs emphasized the visual and performing Arts, understanding that exposing children to their creative dimension was equally important to their academic day. In San Francisco, she has held three non-profit Director positions as a Child and Family Director and as a parent coach.

While guiding parents in consultation about best practices for children and child rearing, she focuses on individual children and their specific temperament. She has spoken frequently at Private and Public Schools with the goal of better connecting parents to their children and helping them to see them in a new way.
